French know-how at Seafood Expo Global

From April 26 to 28, more than 2 000 exhibitors will participate to the Seafood Expo Global 2022, the largest international fair dedicated to to seafood sector and products, at the Fira in Barcelona (Gran Vía)- Spain.

For the first time, Business France is organizing the French Pavilion with 4 partner regionsBrittany, Hauts de France, Normandy and Nouvelle Aquitaine – thus taking over from France AgriMer.

The French Pavilion gathers more than 70 companies under the Taste France brand in Hall 3, to exchange and generate new business opportunities with decision makers from all over the world.

French know in fishing, aquaculture and offshore farming will be represented during this 3 days of exhibition.

The Pavilion is divided in three different areas, especially dedicated for conferences and entertainments. Just a sample of the programme during the 3  days:

Tuesday April 26th (12.30 to 1.30 pm) : Presence ofMichelin Star Chef Romain Fornell to promote the Taste France brand and to sign his latest book « France at the Table »

Tuesday April 26th (3.00 to 3.30 pm) : Opening ceremony of the France pavilion by Business France and France AgriMer

Wednesday April 27th (10am to 11.30 am) : Fao Conference : Presentation of the study on geographical indications in the fisheries and aquaculture sector – Nada Bougouss, Fisheries Division & Florence Tartanac, Nutrition and Food Division

France and Spain, are key partners in the seafood industry. With nearly EUR 7 billion imported in 2019, the seafood products are by far the leading agri-food import sector for Spain.

Despite growing competition (African countries, China, South American countries), France is an important supplier of Spain, ranking 5th supplier of the country in seafood (387M€).
